Cantilever Parasols

To create a comfortable environment whilst relaxing in the sun a garden parasol is perfect for offering shade and respite from the sun.  They are perfect for those hot sunny days, whether required for use when entertaining with friends, or simply sitting under whilst enjoying a cool drink with loved ones.

However, if you are looking for more flexibility, then a cantilever parasol is worth investigating.  Cantilever parasols may just be the the perfect accessory for any sun lover.  Simple to operate a cantilever parasol offers fantastic protection from the sun combining the advantage of sitting alongside your furniture and arching over it.  This means they can be utilised over sun beds and other garden furniture easily and never become obtrusive or in the way whilst entertaining guests and friends.  They move easily into place as the sun moves around during the day thanks to their ability to rotate 360 degrees.

A Cantilever parasol is a stylish addition to any garden and with the ability to offer protection thanks to a simple mechanism that offers a tilt option for wherever shade is required.  An easy to use lever system opens the canopy of almost all parasols and with a range of accessories available including mosquito nets to keep the worst of the summer bugs at bay, a cantilever parasol makes an ideal acquisition to the garden.

With a wide range of sizes available, there are many attractive designs and shapes such as round, oval and square and with sizes ranging from two metres in diameter up to as large as four, you can be sure protection is easily found during the very hot days of summer.

Five things to consider when buying your parasol -

A cantilever parasol can be positioned almost anywhere, where are you considering locating a parasol?

What kind of base is best?  You may need to consider the elements (e.g. wind and weather) and also where the parasol will sit.  i.e. if on the lawn does it have a spike base or a sand/water filled base.

How big do you need your parasol to be?  Most cantilever parasols start at 3 metres in size.  Can you fit that into your garden area comfortably, is that large enough? Do you need one bigger?

There are various types of frames available.  What type of frame do you need to suit your requirements?  It's worth checking out which type suits.  These include a collar tilt, a turn tilt a crank tilt and a push-button tilt.

In the UK most parasol canopy materials offer some form of waterproof resistance together with blocking UV rays.  PVC canopy material is ideal thanks to the need to repel water.

Most canopies have telescopic wheels to assist in moving into position in the garden, and with a waterproof polyester canopy if you do get caught short in a summer downpour you can be confident you won't get too wet!

A parasol is a wonderful addition to any outdoor area, and a cantilever parasol adds that touch of mediterranean luxury for when the summer sun is beating down and a good book and sun lounger look favourite over anything else that needs doing on the day.
